Invisible London published in Gioia

Gioia have just published the London project and have again used a brave layout.
But sometimes I do wonder why I spent so many years carefully learning the craft of framing an image to only include the information I wanted to put across. Maybe I should resort to using 6x7 in the future but I'm sure the photos will then be cropped to 35mm.
This seems to be so typical of so many magazines.

I think photographers will always have the problem of designers cropping their images differently to what was intended (I speak as a professional magazine designer and amateur photographer).

Superb set of London images - I have been a huge fan of your work ever since I saw the article on the Turkey shots in BJP...

For sure magazines will crop, what I don't understand is a blanket crop across all the images, specially when the layout is designed for the photos, as opposed to the text. The Sunday Times magazine were able to use the images from Turkey with a similar layout without cropping.
When you crop in the way they have, you start cropping vital information/people, the limited control you have as an author towards directing the meaning and viewer starts to completely dissappear.
Also the edit they made would be different from mine, but the work from London, when finished will be designed to have a random nature, so this lack of editorial control I don't mind.
